It is not in England, but located in Far East, Hong Kong and known as Asia's largest housing development project at that time. The estate was unique, 16 blocks with difference architectural design called "Houses" and named after varieties of flowers, plus London bus, road sign, mailbox, European street lamp & etc, just like to find ourselves in a British country garden or in Ferrier Estate or Elmington Estate in South London. As time passes, the development of Hong Kong and industrious people were witnessed by the estate, however......Background music: English Folk Song Suite by Ralph Vaughan Williams1st Mvt. March - "Seventeen Come Sunday" (Da Capo al fine)2nd Mvt. Intermezzo - "My Bonny Boy"位於香港的蘇屋邨不單是名稱(SO UK), 其建築風格及佈局, 加上倫敦巴士, 郵筒, 路標, 街燈等等, 置身其中仿如於倫敦的Ferrier Estate或Elmington Estate。 再加上雅麗珊郡主(H.R.H. Princess Alexandra)於1961年11月8日的到訪及植樹, 使此屋邨比英國本土的更覺英倫味。 十六座住宅大樓, 每幢以花卉命名。 截然不同的設計風格由不同的建築師樓分五期興建, 甘洺建築師(Eric Cumine)負責整體規劃。 法國請來的藝術家負責整體翻新塗裝。 竟想不到老舊的公共屋邨也有歐式壁頂彩繪, 連屋邨地圖都出奇地是幅馬賽克藝術品。 總而言之, 從命名 ,建築, 顏色, 園林以及藝術角度都相襯到絕, 美不勝收, 簡直是個公屋奇觀。 時光飛逝, 蘇屋邨見證了香港人的辛勤及都市建設, 但是... ...

Dec 8, 2008 - Dear Mr. yuzufilm, thank you for your visit. At 4:17, the disappearance of Boundary Stone of the City of Victoria erected by the Government in 1903 (the 7th stone) 維多利亞城第七號界石 on Magazine Gap Road located outside of Magazine Heights. Half of the Stone was found embedded in a retaining wall under private lot and was missing in 2007. The government just shirked their responsibility and no further action or investigation has been taken.

Dec 25, 2008 - So Uk is a Chinese name, nothing at all to do with UK. This was one of the first public housing projects started after the influx of refugees after 1950. No where did so public housing so fast as HK. Something to be proud of. Also at So Uk they found an almost complete Han dynasty tomb, from nearly 2000 years ago, still preserved, open to public. Love the shots of lai cha and daan tat. Ethnic soul food !
