Dr. Tapasi Ghosh is a gandabandh shagrid of Late Pandit Dhrubatara Joshi. Pandit D.T. Joshi received taalim in sitar from Ustad Enayet Khan sahab of Imdadkhani gharana and in vocal from Aftab-e-Mousiqui, Ustad Faiyaz Khan sahab of Agra ghrana. Dr. Ghosh is one of the torch-bearer of Agra gharana who had also carried out her research on this gharana and published a book on Ustad Vilayet Hussein Khan sahab. At present, she teaches in Calcutta University along with performing as a classical vocal artist. Her hometown is Bardwan.
