Description: This 45-second PSA, created by Muntada The Arab Forum for Sexuality Education and Health, urges teenagers to obtain accurate information about issues of sexuality and sexual health. It is geared to Arab Israeli youths, and begins with the image of a young woman rising from her desk to lock the door of her bedroom. The next images portray the young woman raptly typing questions into the keyboard of her computer, What is safe sex?, How is AIDS transmitted?, Is masturbation harmful? The questions escalate and blend together, How do I protect myself from STDs?, What is date rape?. Her activities are abruptly interrupted by someone trying to enter the room. Startled, she closes her computer laptop. An advisory appears, Internet is the main source of information about sexuality for teenagers. Most of this information is misleading and inaccurate. The PSA points teens to the organizations web site - Want a website that has the facts? We have the answers? The PSA intends to reach young people, primarily through the Internet and/or mobile phones. Director: Alhan Jeries & Raneen Gereis Email: alhanmuntada@gmail.com/raneen79@gmail.com URL: www.jensaneya.org PSAs are available upon request, in English and Arabic, to broadcasters and organizations who wish to distribute them rights-free. The workshop was supported by the United States Government Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), and Creative Associates International. Please contact: info@barefootworkshops.org for more information.
